Demystifying the Bog of Blogs

The origins of blogging

The world of blogging can be an impenetrable fog for those not clued up on exactly what blogging is and how it can be utilised – the term “blog” is rather vague, which doesn’t help either. The word “blog” originates from “weblog”, a term coined in the 1990’s, which was simply a collection of information about any give topic on the web.

Today, blogs take many forms.  A blog can be anything from an individual’s documentation of their daily life to a more dynamic space in which companies or organisations share a wide range of information.

The crucial aspect about blogging is that it is a versatile platform for the sharing of information.  But more than just that, a blog also allows for interaction. For example, readers of a blog can comment on the content and they can also share this content with others.  For companies or organisations that seek specifically to share information with as many people as possible, carefully constructed blog content has the potential to be spread widely, will very little effort.

Overcoming the challenges of blogging

One challenge for both newcomers to the world of blogging and regular bloggers is the constant need to create fresh, interesting blog content.  The effectiveness of a blog’s ability to communicate and share lies in the actual information shared in the blog and in the specific way in which the content is designed.

Not everyone is equipped for the specialised task of blog writing.  The good news is that there are professional blog writers for hire, to make the task less daunting.  Another option is to turn to a professional content generator, to help you create your blog content or to help you with a content strategy which spans all of your online profiles.

Getting started with a blog may seem overwhelming, but with professional assistance there is no reason why this digital resource should not be explored.

Get started with blogging by:

  •  Deciding what information you would like to share; and by
  • Finding a content generator to manage your blog content
